Different product prices for different regions and countries with Shopify
We get it, sometimes you just don't want to price your products in other countries at the exchange rate. You might want to account for duties, shipping fees and more therefore the price to a customer in another region should be more. Shopify are really ramping up their capabilities with internationalisation giving merchants full control over how much their products will cost at different regions around the world. Historically, you'd need to create an entirely separate store to change prices. Now with Shopify markets, you can control different product prices based on the markets.
Your Shopify Plan
The plan you have subscribed to with Shopify no longer dictates how much control you will have over the product prices per region. Shopify Markets is available on all Shopify plans that allow you to have a full Shopify store. This include international pricing features such as: different prices for different products, market management, language control, currency conversion, local payment methods, product pricing by market..
How Is The Price Calculated At Checkout?
The price of products is dictated by the market that they are most suitable for. For example if they visit your store from the USA they will be prompted to shop via the USA market, changing prices to USA pricelist. At checkout, this will charge them in their default currency. This means that if a customer chooses to ship to a country or region that differs from the one selected on the storefront, then their prices change to match their shipping destination at checkout.
Price Adjustments
Setting a price adjustment lets you increase or decrease the price of all products for a specific country or region. Price adjustments are shown as a percentage, meaning that an adjustment of +100% doubles the price of the item, and an adjustment of -50% reduces the price of the item by half. If you are on the main Shopify plan you have full control for custom price adjustments.
Custom Product Prices
You can set individual product prices and compare-at prices for each country or region that you have enabled in your Shopify Payments multiple currency settings. The prices are imported from a CSV file, which contains all of the details for some or all of your product line.
Location-based Tax Settings
If you sell internationally, then you can include or exclude taxes in your product prices based on your customer's location. Customers in some countries, such as the United Kingdom, expect prices to include taxes, while customers in other countries, such as the United States, expect taxes to be added at checkout.
